Paul â€śPeteâ€ť Henry Hollar, age 84, of Newton, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at his residence. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Hollar family
Evelyn Sigmon Teague, 78 of Hickory, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Abernathy Laurels, Newton. Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family of Evelyn Sigmon Teague.
Twenty-Fifth District Court Judge Robert A. Mullinax, Jr. of Newton has filed with the North Carolina State Board of Elections in Raleigh to seek re-election to his District Court judgeship when voters go to the polls during the 2014 election cycle.
The local native has served on the bench of the judicial district serving Catawba, Burke and Caldwell counties since 2009.
