Shirley Jane Wilkinson Harvey, 67 entered into the everlasting joy of eternal life with Christ on Thursday, September 4, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bennett Funeral Service in Conover is serving the Harvey family.

Junior Lee Smith, Jr., age 52, of Lincolnton passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at CMC-Main. Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. Rev. Billy Ramseur will officiate.
Margie Drum Gilbert, age 90, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Manor Care Prestwick in Avon, IN.
"We wanted to offer our parents and students one of the best school care programs in the state," said Deborah Ferguson, Catawba County's program director for QUEST.
QUEST is a before and after school program that has been implemented in all Catawba County elementary schools newly this year.
