Former N-CHS assistant Natoli leaves Warriors

A former Newton-Conover assitant football coach won’t return to his head football coaching position.

West Iredell High School announced on Friday that Mike Natoli, who spent the past two seasons as head coach of the Warriors, would not be returning for a third season.

From 2004-09, Natoli was an offensive coordinator under former Red Devil head football coach Nick Bazzle.

New Artifacts Displayed at Depot Celebration

Reaching the $500,000 mark in fund raising was the theme of a recent celebration at the Historic Newton Depot on November 15 that was open to the public. Almost 100 people ventured out on that very cold Saturday to see several new artifacts that will be on display at the Southeast Narrow Gauge & Shortline Museum being created at the Depot.

The need to give

Ivy Robertson felt the need to give to the less fortunate pressing on her heart when she decided to begin In My Father’s House. Robertson’s family and a group of volunteers have been collecting coats and food for the needy for about five years. In the last few weeks, In My Father’s House opened the doors to their thrift store in downtown Newton for the first time.
