Jay Haas and Joe Durant share the lead after Friday's first round of the 12th Annual Greater Hickory Kia Classic (GHKC) at Rock Barn.
The 2005 and 2009 GHKC champion, Haas shot a 29 on the front nine and a 35 on the back nine for his first-round score of 63.

Matt Beam returns to his alma mater Friday to lead his Newton-Conover Red Devils into their biggest game of the season against East Lincoln.
