NEWTON — A Newton woman died early Wednesday in Gastonia when a semi struck her as she was attempting to flee from an attacker, according to the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
Once a Newton-Conover football player, Antonio Lyerly is making new waves this season at Bandys High School.
