Blue Devils force 7 turnovers in rivalry victory

MAIDEN — Known mostly this season for its potent offense, the Maiden football team shined on the defensive side of the ball on Friday night.

The Blue Devils forced seven Newton-Conover turnovers in a 23-6 rivalry conference victory.

Maiden improves to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in SD-7 play this season.

Pioneers spoil Tiger's homecoming with 48-10 win

NEWTON — Watauga continued its undefeated play so far this season on Friday at the expense of Fred T. Foard.

The Pioneers spoiled Tiger's homecoming with a 48-10 conference road victory on Friday night.

Green Room murder mystery

In a case of who did it, playgoers will be on the edge of their seats at The Green Room's second production of the season, “And Then There Were None.”

The play, based on Agatha Christie's 1939 murder mystery, is set to hit the stage tonight and run for two weeks. The mystery is based on an old British nursery rhyme about ten little solders who die one by one.

Cycle challenge battles pediatric cancer

Brett's Ride began in 2004, to honor Brett Gosnell as he fought pediatric cancer.
