Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are taking their programs to the next level.
The two schools who've won a combined nine FCS championships in football are leaving the Southern Conference for the Sun Belt Conference, said a person familiar with the situation.
March 25th
Junior Rachel Pritchard scored two goals, while teammate Alexis Edwards scored her first career goal, helping the Maiden girls soccer team pick up a 3-1 victory over North Lincoln on Monday.
The Lady Blue Devils improve to 7-3 overall on the season.
Nicole Barbieri scored the lone goal for North Lincoln (0-7).

Fred T. Foard's next football coach is a familiar name in the Northwestern 3A/4A.
Hickory's Tom Harper has decided to leave the Red Tornadoes after just one season to take over the Tigers football program.
The school requested Harper's hire during Catawba County Schools Board of Education monthly meeting on Monday.

The Charlotte Bobcats signed guard Jannero Pargo to a second 10-day contract on Sunday.
The 33-year-old out of the University of Arkansas has provided a spark off of the bench in the absence of the injured Ramon Sessions.
In five games with the Bobcats, Pargo is averaging 11.2 points and 3.2 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.

The Charlotte Bobcats were trying to win a season-high third-straight game on Saturday, but Charlie Villanueva and the Detroit Pistons played the role of spoiler.
Villanueva scored 15 of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter, including a lay up with 15 seconds left, helping Detroit knock off Charlotte at Time Warner Cable Arena.
March 23rd
The sixth-ranked Catawba Valley Community College baseball team swept Danville Community College on the diamond on Saturday at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.
The Bucs (20-5, 10-1) won 12-3 in game one and picked up a 8-3 victory in game two.
