A woman who was reported missing Oct. 7 and recently located by Maiden Police is now being held at the Catawba County Detention Center.
Police say Jennifer Leigh Wynn, 36, of Maiden was responsible for a theft from her former employer, Royal Enterprises, operator of the Maiden Shell convenience store.

Police and emergency workers worked to remove two men from a mangled SUV after they collided with a truck at the intersection of N.C. 16 and Burris Road in northeastern Newton.
Neighbors told the Observer News Enterprise that the SUV appeared to have pulled out in front of the asphalt tanker truck, the driver of which was not reported as injured.
