Willie Mae Abernathy Mundy, 90, formerly of Long Island Rd., Catawba, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at the Statesville Brian Center. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Willie Mae Mundy.
Newton Police and Fire officials investigated a truck that rolled into a house Wednesday morning at 311 North Caldwell Avenue. No one was injured and there was minimal property damage according to city sources.

Nadene Arndt Bumgarner, 87, of Catawba passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Abernathy Laurels in Newton. Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Bumgarner family.
