Hickory police arrested a Conover man for child sex crimes Wednesday.
Edmundo Teodulo Bello-Gomez, 48, of 2674 10th Ave. Lane NE was charged with one count of felony attempted first-degree rape and three counts of felony indecent liberties with children.
The crimes happened in Hickory.

A slip of the foot caused an accident Thursday morning at Eastern Catawba County Christian Ministries.
“I knew what it was when I heard the commotion,” Newton resident Howard Campbell said. “This is the second accident at that crossing that I have either heard or scene.”
