Mark Kevin Rowe, 47, of Newton, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mid City General Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. The Rowe family is in the care of Robert F. Bennett, Funeral Service Licensee.

The Carolina Heat picked up a 13-3 upset victory against the Lincoln County Cardinals on Monday night.
Pitcher Chris Aronis led the Heat (3-9, 3-9) in the win by throwing seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out four Lincoln County batters.
Aronis also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk and an RBI. Aronis' three hits were part of 13 base knocks for the Heat.
Junius Robert Gaither, Jr. (Bob), 90, of Newton, passed away at home early Sunday morning June 23, 2013. The Gaither family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
The driver of an all-terrain vehicle died after an early morning accident Monday in Catawba County.
The accident happened about 5:30 a.m. Monday along Slanting Bridge Road about a half mile south of the bridge near Tradewinds Drive.
N.C. Highway Patrol officials said the rider, 30-year-old Joseph Hall, was not wearing a helmet.
No one else was injured in the crash.
