Whatâ€™s been a difficult season for Newton-Conover on the baseball diamond so far in 2013 got just a little brighter on Monday.
The Red Devils drove in 17 runs on 13 hits en route to stunning top-seeded Bunker Hill 17-4 in the first round of the Catawba County Easter Baseball Classic.

Bernard Bowman Bock, 88, of Newton passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Abernathy Laurels in Newton. Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory in Hickory is serving the family of Bernard Bowman Bock.
