After losing three-straight games to start the season, the Bandys baseball team is starting to pick up momentum.
The Trojans spread the wealth around offensively and held Newton-Conover at bay in a 10-0 victory on the diamond Friday.

Even though playoff contention may be slipping out of reach for the Toronto Raptors, Amir Johnson isn't about to slow down.
Johnson had 12 points and a career-high 21 rebounds, and Rudy Gay scored 28 points as the Raptors beat the Charlotte Bobcats 92-78 on Friday night.
"That was a heck of an effort by Amir Johnson," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. "I can't sing his praises enough."

Johnny William Goforth, 49, of Newton, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice. The Goforth Family is in the care of Robert F. Bennett, Funeral Service Licensee.

Two days after being one-hit in a 3-1 loss against East Burke in its CVAC opener, the Bunker Hill baseball team unleashed its frustration upon Fred T. Foard on Thursday.
Bunker Hill pitcher Justin Aiken tossed a no-hitter, and the Bears (3-3) tallied 12 runs on 13 hits in a 12-0 shutout of the Tigers in Newton.

The Charlotte Bobcats have signed guard Jannero Pargo to a 10-day contract.
In his ninth NBA season, Pargo has played for the Lakers, Raptors, Bulls, Hornets, Hawks and Wizards.
In 14 games this season with Washington and Atlanta, Pargo is averaging 4.0 points and 2.4 assists per game.
The signing of Pargo brings the Bobcats roster up to 15 players.
Julius Frances Abernethy Huitt, 86, passed peacefully Feb. 25, 2013 in her Kailua, Hawaii home. Services to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. March 21, at Kailua Baptist Church, 1080 Kailua Road, Kailua, Hi., with a reception to follow.
Newton native Julius Frances Abernethy Huitt, who set a local record for women in previously male achievements before she and her husband moved to Hawaii more than half a century ago, has died in her adopted state.
