The sixth-ranked Catawba Valley Community College baseball team swept Danville Community College on the diamond on Saturday at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.
The Bucs (20-5, 10-1) won 12-3 in game one and picked up a 8-3 victory in game two.

Gerald Lee Blanton, 72, of Conover, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. The Blanton Family is in the care of Robert F. Bennett, Funeral Service Licensee.
Hugh Ivor Setzer Jr. devoted his lifetime to the public education of children in his native Catawba County. He opened one elementary school in Newton and closed a historic one during his lengthy career.
The distinguished educator died Thursday at age 86.
The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year deal with wideout Ted Ginn Jr.
The team officially announced Ginn’s signing on Friday after first being reported by several league sources the day prior.
It's a two-man race for the Fred T. Foard varsity football coaching job, according to principal Chris Gibbs.
The Tigers have narrowed down a field of 25 applicants to two potential candidates to lead Foard on the gridiron this fall.
No official job offer has been made to either of the two candidates.

Against an unfamiliar opponent in Canon-McMillan (Pa.), one run was the difference for the Fred T. Foard softball team on Thursday.
Addie Bolick connected with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to center field, helping the Lady Tigers defeat the Lady Big Macs, 1-0.
