Charlotte Bobcats guard Ramon Session will be out 2-4 weeks after suffering a second degree MCL sprain in his left knee, the team announced on Thursday.
Sessions suffered the knee injury during Wednesday night's 99-78 loss to Brooklyn. He scored nine points in 20 minutes against the Nets and left the court under his own control.
Martin “Marty” Elkana Hollar, 48, of Conover, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston Salem. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover with Rev. Scott Johnson and Rev. Anton Lagoutine officiating.

Jeff Bentley, director of JEBCC, said the center has seen a lot of growth each year.
“It’s quite a challenge for us — a lot of people have misconceptions about the facility,” Bentley said. “We are 95 percent self-supporting — we raise those funds.”
Newton fire officials determined the cause of a Wednesday morning house fire at 5 South Ervin Avenue was due to a discarded cigarette.
The homeowner noticed smoke coming from a rear room of the house and called 911, according to Newton Fire Chief Kevin Yoder.
“She carried out most of the burning material to the front porch,” Yoder said.
Margaret Hildebran Cline, 92, of Conover, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Drum Funeral Home and Cremations in Conover.
A pack of hungry, fast-paced Black Bears put an end to Bandys' girls basketball season on Wednesday.
Pisgah (25-6) led nearly the entire game against the Lady Trojans, winning 57-45 at UNC-Greensboro to advance to Saturday's 2A West Region championship game.
Bandys, who was making its fourth-straight appearance at the 2A West Regions, finish its season with a 27-3 record.
When the Brooklyn Nets started to catch fire, there was nothing the Charlotte Bobcats could do.
Joe Johnson and Deron Williams combined for 38 points, helping the Nets overcome a halftime deficit to defeat the Bobcats 99-78 at Time Warner Cable Arena on Wednesday.
Charlotte (13-48) shot just 38 percent from the field in the loss.
