A Newton man was arrested in Lincolnton Wednesday for drug trafficking.
The subject wanted for the armed robbery of the Sun House Gas Station located at 1901 U.S. 70 in Hickory, which occurred on Jan. 21, has been identified as Brandon Torrey Colbert.
Nominations for the Newton-Conover City Schools “Red Blazer” award will be accepted from Feb. 1- March 4.

The Newton-Conover wrestling team continued its solid performance in conference matches this season on Thursday against Maiden.
The Red Devils (36-5, 5-0) were dominant in a 59-6 road victory against the Blue Devils (8-18, 1-4).
St. Stephens softball player Molli Huffman made her college decision official on Thursday.
The senior catcher signed to play next fall for Surry Community College.
