The Blue Moon Tavern opened Monday in downtown Newton in the former Artist Cafe building at the corner of North Main and West First Street. Friday night the restaurant hosted a â€śsoft grand openingâ€ť that raised funds for the Levine Children hospital and tested the kitchen staff on their culinary skills.

Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton said Rivera met with owner Jerry Richardson Saturday morning and was informed that he will return for a third season. Rivera has two years on his current contract.
"He's going about normal preparations for next season," Dayton said.

Cleveland's Kyrie Irving scored 33 points on Friday against the Charlotte Bobcats, but none were more important than his final two.
With one second left, Irving connected on a 12-foot jumper over top of Charlotte's Jeffery Taylor, lifting the Cavaliers to a 106-104 victory against the Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has scheduled a meeting with Ron Rivera Saturday morning to discuss the coach's future with the team, said a person familiar with the situation.
The person spoke to The Associated Press Friday on condition of anonymity because the meeting has not been publically announced.
