Charlotte's Lambert adds 4 coaches, staff complete

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte 49ers head football coach Brad Lambert has filled out his 10-person staff by hiring four additional assistant coaches.

Damien Gary will coach the running backs, Drew Dayton the inside linebackers, Johnson Richardson the tight ends and John Russell will be the assistant secondary coach.

Thelma Louise Baker Sigmon, 91, died July 1, 2012, surrounded by the family she loved.  The Sigmon family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Conover.

Clerks busted for under-age tobacco sales

Clerks at two Catawba County convenience stores were among 243 statewide cited for selling tobacco products to minors.

During fiscal year 2011-2012, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents conducted 1,870 unannounced tobacco compliance checks in 90 counties across the state and cited 243 store clerks for selling tobacco or tobacco products to a minor.
