One of Newton’s oldest surviving businesses may have closed its doors for good.

Epps Printing Co., which dates back to the early 1920s, is up for sale.

The Catawba County Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests and incidents.

Arrests

April 29
* Jamie Marie Lowery, 35, of Denver, was arrested on burglary-forced entry charges. She was held in the Catawba County Detention Center on a $3,000 secured bond.

The Catawba County home and property Jeremy Mayfield was auctioned on the courthouse steps in Newton on Monday. The bank that loaned the ex-NASCAR driver money for the property won the auction with a $1.725 million bid. Mayfield still owes Carolina Farm Credit about $3 million.
