The N.C. Department of Transportation awarded $6.2 million this week for the replacement of six bridges in the region, including two in Catawba County.
A design and construction contract was awarded to R.E. Burns & Sons Company Inc. of Statesville. Work can begin as early as April 30 and be completed by Nov. 1, 2014.
