Fire officials say arson was to blame for a blaze that damaged a Hickory apartment this week.
At 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Hickory firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Ridgecrest Apartments at 2940 12th Ave. SE.
Firefighters controlled the blaze by 12:19 a.m., and no one was injured.
Investigators estimate damage at $10,000, mostly from heat and smoke.
