The Carolina Panthers waived kicker Justin Medlock on Tuesday — two days after he missed his third-straight field goal for the team.
Medlock, who signed a three-year contract with the Panthers on March 7, was 7-for-10 on his field goal attempts this season, but had missed his past three attempts, including a 40-yard attempt in the second quarter of Sunday's 27-21 overtime loss to Tampa Bay.
Faye Willadean Lail, 78, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Catawba Regional Hospice. The receiving will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m., at the Church Fellowship Hall and the funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the church.
Newton-Conover was perfect during its first tri-match of the season on Monday at North Gaston High School.

Ramon Sessions wanted another chance to prove he had some ice left in his veins. He got that chance Monday night and took advantage of it.
Sessions scored nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws with 4.2 seconds left to seal the game, and the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Milwaukee Bucks 102-98.
