The CVCC men's basketball team overcame a 19-point deficit to win by one point, 71-70, against Region 10 foe Pitt Community College on Saturday.
Jalen Cannady carried the Bucs (8-11) with 31 points. Will White added 12 points in the CVCC victory.
Chris McLawhorn guided Pitt with 14 points.
CVCC men's basketball team holds its next game Friday against Lenoir Community College at 7 p.m.

Despite 19 points from freshman Brianna Mitchell, the Lady Bucs lost a heartbreaker to Lenoir Community College on the basketball court Saturday.
Newton-Conover improved to 37-2 overall and 6-0 in the CVAC on the wrestling mat Friday with a convincing 76-0 victory against East Burke in Icard.
The Red Devils earned five pins in the match, including Ian Canrobert (40-2), Coleman Carter (30-8), Kyle Toomey (17-12), Tyler Benfield (38-3) and Jaron Pitts (23-13).

Madi Story scored 17 points and Brittany Moss added 15 points, lifting the Bandys girls basketball team to the bounce-back victory against West Caldwell.
Story also collected eight rebounds for the Lady Trojans (18-1, 9-1), along with teammate Taylor Sigmon.
Ravin Carter led West Caldwell (7-8, 5-4) with 20 points, while Brittany Dixon chipped in 17 points.
