The Newton-Conover boys basketball team (10-8, 5-3) opened the fourth quarter on a 9-0 run Friday, lifting them to a 62-56 win against the Blue Devils — their second win of the season against Maiden.
The Red Devils' 9-0 run was their second of the game. The team also had a 9-0 run in the second quarter of the game.
Kevin Holloway led N-C with 16 points, while Tyoun Shuford pitched in 12 points.
Matt Johnson scored a game-high 20 points for Maiden (6-10, 2-6).

Chelsey Queen scored a career-high 21 points and dished out six assists, leading the Lady Trojans to their 17th straight win of the season.
Madi Story added 20 points, five assists and six steals for Bandys (17-0, 8-0).
Lauren Duckworth led Draughn (10-8, 3-5) with 19 points.
East Burke 76, Bunker Hill 37
The Lady Cavaliers picked up a conference victory against the Lady Bears on Friday.
Lauren Arney and Bailey Gragg each scored 15 points apiece, while Sydney Hicks added 11 points in the East Burke (12-6, 5-3) win.
