HIckory Post 48 splits Monday twin-bill

Two games, two opponents and two different results.

Hickory Post 48 earned a thrilling 4-3 victory over Moundsville (W.Va.) in the first game on Monday and closed the night out with a difficult 11-8 defeat to Shelby.

In the first game of a doubleheader, Hickory (6-6, 5-6) made a tremendous comeback against Moundsville by scoring three runs in the final two innings to pick up the 4-3 victory.

The rally started in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Kyle Johnson delivered a leadoff home run to cut Hickory's deficit to 3-2.
