Panthers earn second win of the season, beat Redskins 33-20

The Carolina Panthers shook a three-game losing streak, defeating the Washington Redskins at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, 33-20.

Rookie quarterback Cam Newton completed 18-of-23 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown, while rushing 10 times for 59 yards and another score.

Carolina (2-5) took a 9-6 halftime lead behind three Olindo Mare field goals before exploding in the second half for 24 points.
